Testimonials

We recently started asking our purchasers for referrals and added this testimonial page. We thank them for taking the time to write us with these kind words. Please read below:

From the owner of Wyleigh Princess by Weltmeyer out of Elite Mare Heiress (Received January, 2012)

"I would be pleased if you would include the language from the article in your website.  I am happy to be a referral for your breeding program."

Ruth Shirkey, CA

Here is what Ruth said in the Fall 2011 AHS Magazine article about Wyleigh Princess, who was 2011 Great American USDF Region 7 Yearling Champion. Ruth purchased Wyleigh "in-utero" from Hidden Acres Farm:

"She is what I was hoping for in disposition from a baby, this was her first time at Murieta and she handled herself beautifully. It was her fourth time away from home and she was quite calm and relaxed. She really used her hind end (in the trot) and was sitting more. She has a beautiful walk and uses her whole body. I am very excited about what I am seeing in her canter too. I am also thrilled that the judges are seeing something that they like.  I am very interested in seeing how this filly turns out. I also want to breed her."

From the owner of Wroyal William H.A. by Weltmeyer out of Elite Mare Heiress (Received January, 2012) See also AHS Inspection comments.

"Having a lot of fun with William.  We are connected and he is attached to me....makes me smile.  Just love the guy. I usually do not let Aidan in with new babies on the farm, but with William, I have no problem letting him help groom.  Just such a kind, gentle soul. Our vet says he fits right in with the temperament we so desire for our farm."

"High-scoring mare was Donnalja Frederika (Don Frederico- EM Radunja/Rosentau), owned by Cheryl and Eric Johnson of Hidden
Acres Farm, Adrian, Mich. Her final score was a 7.61. Her scores were uniformly strong throughout the test with an 8.0 for free jumping, 7.33 for her gaits under saddle, and a 7.5 for rideability. Our MPT winner Donnalja Frederika is now a well-deserved Elite Mare Candidate."

"Eight foals were presented for inspection and branding. The top foal of the day was a colt by Weltmeyer- EM Heiress B./His Highness, owned and bred by Cheryl and Eric Johnson. This colt was very impressive to watch with lots of forward, uphill
movement."

Meg Williams, Judge of the 2011 American Hanoverian Mare Performance Test and Mare and Foal Inspection in Michigan

From the owner of Shamrok Hit by Sandro Hit out of Elite Mare Halleluja (Received August, 2011)

"Thank you Hidden Acres Farm for the beautiful gift, Shamrok Hit. It was such a pleasure to do business with you.  Cheryl, you made everything so easy, and you were so helpful with any questions I had.  All your horses are amazing and I am definitely going to come back for another purchase one day! Thanks again".

Trudean Knight, Canada.

Purchaser of a Hotline colt; (Received March, 2011)

"It was an absolute pleasure working with Hidden Acres Farm and Owners Cheryl and Eric Johnson in selecting my foal. the Johnson's are extremely professional and knowledgable breeders who have developed a very attractive breeding program. Compared to other breeders I have experienced, the Johnson's are attentive to what a buyer is looking for in a foal and not only take, but make, the time to answer all your questions and then some.

You will find the Johnson's very personable, unpretentious and well informed breeders. Purchasing a foal is a big decision and can be a very difficult decision. The Johnson's make the process both comfortable and right."

Robin Ranke, CA

From the Owner of Le Hot Shot by Londonderry o/o SPA/EM Radunja (Rosentau/Weltmeyer); (Received January 2011)

"Dear Cheryl,

Having many experiences in the process of purchasing horses, both good and bad, working with Hidden Acres Farm was a pleasure and a breath of fresh air.   All of the information you provided me with regarding his Sire and Dam was extremely valuable in our decision to purchase Le Hot Shot, especially as a weanling.  You made the entire purchase process so simple, and you always kept us well informed of his health and progress in his training in the two months between the purchase and his weaning.

I will definitely be looking forward to purchasing more foals from Hidden Acres Farm in the future. "

Sincerely,
Dawn Coffey, PA

From the Owner of Qrown Prince by Quaterback o/o EM Halleluja (His Highness/Rosentau); (Received November, 2010)

"I recently purchased a Quaterback colt from Eric and Cheryl Johnson of Hidden Acres Farm in Adrian, Michigan and I could not be more pleased with (a) the quality of the colt (he was named Champion colt at his large Hanoverian Inspection and the German Inspector stated that he should not be gelded for at least two years as he was definite stallion material, (b) the quality if the mares owned by Eric and Cheryl (two of them are sired by His Highness, the undisputed winner of the Hanoverian licensing in 2002 and celebrated in the press like no other Hanoverian Approval Champion before him and the third mare is by Rosentau by Rubenstein out of a Weltmeyer dam);  and (c) the quality of the sires chosen by the Johnsons (the 2010 foal crop was sired by Weltmeyer, Londonderry, and Quaterback, the best of the old and the new).

Cheryl and Eric are very adroit at matching their mares to the best of the warmblood stallions, and their knowledge and dedication pays off.  At the Hanoverian Inspection in Michigan this past July, their foals won both Champion Colt and Champion Filly!  In addition to their expertise in and dedication to producing top Hanoverian sporthorses, the Johnsons take care to raise their foals with the best scientifically-analyzed nutrition and a lot of hands-on attention to make certain their young charges are ready to embark on careers for any type of owner.

When I brought my weanling colt, Qrown Prince, to Hilltop Farm in Maryland for their Raising Services, their Director stated she was sure that the Johnsons did a good job at socializing my colt as she was familiar with them.  Lastly, Eric and Cheryl have been a pleasure to work with, always responding promptly and courteously to e-mails and phone calls.  They are so warm and friendly while being true professionals on top of their game.  I feel I have made friends for life and I highly recommend them to anyone considering purchasing a world class foal."

From Dr. Ludwig Christmann, as published on Page 29 of the 2010 AHS Fall Magazine; (Published October 2010)

"Cheryl and Eric Johnson both had really big smiles on their faces after the foal show. They were extremely successful, winning both the titles of top colt and top filly from three foals they presented. Winning was not easy this day, as there was really strong competition. Breeders here have really invested in quality broodmares and the foal crop showed that this concept pays off. Nine colts and four fillies were presented and the overall quality was very high. The top colt was by Quaterback out of EM Hallelujah H.A., by His Highness. He had tremendous presence combined with a very attractive type and good movement. He was the most complete package.

The top filly was bred out of another His Highness daughter, EM Heiress B, and sired by the legendary Weltmeyer, showing that his qualities are not going out of fashion. His daughter excelled with correct conformation, type and good gaits, and her walk deserves special mention."
